Re: Anyone stopover for a holiday on the way to Oz?

Thanks everyone. We have been talking about this all yesterday and today. After all that I think we may have decided to forget about the stopover holiday, and do a last UK trip to visit friends and...

Re: Anyone stopover for a holiday on the way to Oz?

Yes it would be better that way if we went to Malaysia. I guess I assumed that as Bali is so much closer to Oz it would be easy and cheap to get to Sydney from there, hence I was looking at...

Re: Anyone stopover for a holiday on the way to Oz?

Thanks for your suggestions. Unfortunately my other half is a bit of a beach bum and he's after more of a 'holiday' style holiday. He's already been to Singapore and didn't like it that much....

Hi ianandmel

Thanks for your reply. Fortunately my little lady doesn't know what disney is yet and she will be more than happy with a pool, some space to run around and some new people to practise...

Anyone stopover for a holiday on the way to Oz?

We're going to be moving to Australia in July (me, hubby and 2yo daughter) and I'm torn between going straight there or stopping over for a week holiday somewhere like Bali. On the one hand we could...

Re: Spouse Visa Circle continued - Dec 2010 onwards

Thanks Mazza, I'm crapping myself slightly at all the things that need to be organised before we go. But once we book our tickets there's no way out of it really!!

Re: Spouse Visa Circle continued - Dec 2010 onwards

Hi Rljacobs sorry for not replying sooner. The other have answered the second part of the question - we are assuming 12 months from when the police check was done but until we get the visa we don't...

Re: Spouse Visa Circle continued - Dec 2010 onwards

Good news for us this morning. I nagged my DH to call his case officer (he's the expat not me), and the visa is all looking good, they need nothing more from us, and its should come through mid to...

Re: Spouse Visa Circle continued - Dec 2010 onwards

You will still need to do one as the non-australian partner, but I was told to submit the application first then the CO would request it later. Also please double check with DIAC in case I'm wrong...

Re: Spouse Visa Circle continued - Dec 2010 onwards

Only you can decide whether it's what you want or not. For me personally I've been living in London for 12 years and I am desperate to move home to be with my family. My husband wasn't ready a few...

Re: Spouse Visa Circle continued - Dec 2010 onwards

Ps the current timeline they advise is 6 months for the partner visa. It's no quicker if you've been married for ages I don't think, but I'll let you know if we get a pleasant surprise!

Re: Spouse Visa Circle continued - Dec 2010 onwards

Green Grass - I don't think it matters that much, but I did it roughly in this order:
Covering letter
Application forms (Main applicant followed by sponsor)
Certified copies of Birth cert,...

Re: Partner Visa Application

It might just be a matter of dates on the evidence. I got the same email and I have been married to DH for nearly 6 years. I had sent copies of bills, mortgage statements etc, but the most recent one...

Re: ACPO certificate - need to declare juvenile cautions?

Well we got the certificate back with 'No live trace', so I've sent it off with an explanatory letter. My husband spoke to the CO who assured him that it was unlikely to be a problem but just to note...

Re: Spouse Visa Circle continued - Dec 2010 onwards

Hi mike, strangely a bit defaulted to read that - so everything's all done but it's still going to take 3 more months? What happens during that time? Or is it just to do with only allowing people in...

Re: ACPO certificate - need to declare juvenile cautions?

Anyway we're going to send it off tomorrow and hope for the...
