My fiancee started working already even without EAD. She came over on a K-1 visa. We have applied for EAD anyway because i am sure the need will arise eventually. It helps them adjust to the culture...

You will also need 2 copies of 1-864's when filing AOS.
The I-485 fees are: $315.00 for your wife and $215.00 for the child if the child is under 14 years old.

She doesnt drive yet but she does have ss# and is working. Believe it or not they didnt even ask for EAD but she is working and at a very large company. All they wanted was a ss# for the job.
