My instinct is that it's a lot of money, especially when she hasn't quoted for the actual return yet. But, I also know you don't get nothing for nothing, as they say! But it still sounds a lot :(

thanks nun, I have to admit I still don't understand though, feeling very stupid here :( I did make contact with Pete Newton from doug-tax.com and he advised he doesn't really deal with UK...

Looks like I screwed up an earlier post as it's not showing LOL! I heard back from Pete Newton and unfortunately he doesn't specialize in UK citizens leaving US permanently to return home :(
