Well Kentucky is a hell of a lot closer than London. And US qualifications always look better. But I doubt I could afford even a 1 year course right now and there will be 1000 more candidates better...

Teaching is still a possibility but I am looking now into returning to science and research, getting my Masters degree here in the UK and start building work experience in that field. Sorry I wasn't...

Using visa waiver time to look for jobs???

Is this a silly idea which could wreck any future attempts to get a visa or a good chance to meet potential employers face-to-face?

I have been told that my current qualifications will grant me a one year "emergency" licence, while I take the necessary exams. And yes, I'm prepared for being ripped off. They don't call it a green...
