Well, I just got word that the visa has now been refused under 212 a 1 A (iii). So, to answer my own initial question, yes I should have been worried.

Nope. The operator at the embassy said something about a "pink slip" being sent out to me. Didn't get it yet.

Well, I called the Embassy today and was told my visa was refused under 221 (g) on May 26th. To date I have received no notice in the mail and they still have my passport. Scratching my head here...

It says that I have had a problem with alcoholism which has been "in remission" for "over a year" and the risk of relapse is "medium".

I think that's a bit borderline on the question of...

I know the medical report was in to the Embassy on May 25th. What could take 8-10 weeks at this stage???
