Australian citizenship certificate?

Someone just suggested to me that the citizenship certificate you need for a passport application is not the one you get at the citizenship ceremony - but something else they mail you later.

Re: Citizenship ceremony

I've no doubt the options JAJ mentions are good and proper, however council will take the view that "we can only fit X people per ceremony in our venue for health and safety reasons" etc, and DIAC...

Re: 457 and health insurance

My understanding (from when I was on a 457) is 457 visa holders must have health insurance, which is a requirement independant of the reciprocal agreement with the UK. They don't want to have 457...

Re: Citizenship ceremony

Re: Citizenship ceremony

As I see it the basis of my complaint is that basically the department guidelines set a performance target of 8 weeks, and the department is wildly missing that target. Right?

Let us know how you...

Re: Citizenship ceremony

I got a reply to my "feedback" lodged with Immigration. The guts of the reply is as follows... sounds like they're going to do bugger all about going way outside their 8 week guidelines:

"The...

Re: Citizenship ceremony

Hi,

I sat the test and put in my application on 23rd May and got approval on 14th July, at the Parramatta office. I've heard the Sydney office takes a bit longer.
Hope that helps.

Re: Citizenship ceremony

I just talked to immigration and they said 3-6 months for a ceremony. I pointed out this is well outside their own guidelines of 8 weeks, and lodged a 'feedback' on the subject. They said I'll get a...

Re: Citizenship ceremony

I have my approval, but when I called the council to see if they could fit me in ASAP they said Immigration schedule the ceremonies and it's nothing to do with them.

Citizenship ceremony

Has anyone had any luck chasing Immigration for their citizenship ceremony date? My council says it's all up to Immigration as to when it happens.

I'm pretty sure the answer is a huge no and I've...

Re: Going on holiday during citizenship application?

That's great, though if you could point me to somewhere official that says so it would be really reassuring.
Thanks for the advice!

Re: Two year requirement for employer sponsored PR?

I have a contract that says I have to stay for two years, or pay them back their costs. It's fair enough to have to pay them back - I just don't want to lose my PR.
