I think its definately a personal choice, the state schools we saw were not suitable for us, so we opted for a private, its all down to personal choice I think.

I have to agree with Jad n Rich, we found the crime rate seemed much higher than in the uk, it seems more violent even in Qld were we were.

Just been reading your post. We emigrated to Australia October 2009 returned to the uk July 2010.
My opinion wold be if you are quite happy here, DONT do it, I cannot stress to you how much stress...
