Layed off, here on work permit

I am here on a work permit but unfortunately the comapany that brought me over here isn't doing so well currently and had to lay off a bunch of people and sadly I'm one of them.

I'm wondering...

So she has an open work permit, it doesn't seem to be tied to any particular employer.

We are not a common law...

OHIP without a full time job

My girlfriend works 9:00am to 3:30pm mon-fri and as such she isn't classed as having a full time job, even though she works other jobs making up more time, since she doesn't have a single full time...

I filled it all out using turbo tax and sent it off in the mail in good time. But I haven't heard anything since. Should I have heard something by now? Is there something I need to do if it got lost...

Cool, good to hear that's not the way things work here. :)

It shouldn't have been a restocking fee since the product was faulty. I though those restocking fees would only apply to non-faulty...

Yeah I never thought it made sense, but I figured if DHL were convinced I owe them money, and I refuse to pay, then it might go down as me not paying my bills or something.

I did pay by credit card, but I don't think I can challenge the payment since I've heard it can damage credit ratings.

Unfortunately I didn't know a goods to follow list...

Anyone know if there is a Canadian equivalent of Trading Standards?

I got a bunch of stuff shipped from England by DHL in the beginning of December, but they managed to mix up one of my parcels...
