The people i`ve met on the compound are brits and also some lebanese guys.
As for the price i think the villa's (not sure if 2 or 3 bedroom) are 90SAR a year and the studio apartments are...

This might help you, but its not shared accommodation.I live in Compound 23, its a small compound off Exit 14 on the ringroad. One part of the compound consists of studio apartments...
