Just to confirm, it's a USA marriage certificate from South Carolina with the judges little seal thing. Gives my name before marriage and my husbands name.

Plus, I checked the Supporting Documents section on the gov.uk passport website for overseas people and it says nothing of the sort - just a Marriage Certificate, which they have.

Thank you! So glad I'm not going mad here. I'm going to complain. Asking me for something I can't provide and then insisting I could if I were married in the UK, is ridiculous.

I just called them again to see if the next person said something different and the guy I spoke to (who informed me he had been married three times so knew what the UK certificates say) insisted that...

Awww Sue, wish I'd known that a few months ago... I live in Michigan now, we moved up here in June :blink: It was far too hot down there for me, so now I'm in 2 ft of snow and loving it!

Ouch, he was 14 last week. Thanks for the clarification - I suspected this was the case but as he is in on the back of my visa I wasn't exactly sure and I didn't want to send them too much money.
