Car insurance and car import

I suspect this has been asked before but I could not find anything doing a search.

Re: PR Approved, our 2 day old baby is not included!

That is very good news. In Kenya, we have to send our passport applications to Pretoria and expect the process to take 8 weeks.

Re: Want to go -where to go?

Yep, see them everywhere. Here in Kenya too. Funny thing is, they call England "that miserable old place" with a longing in their eyes. They bad-mouth England for breakfast, lunch and dinner but...

Speaking as a father and a son and as someone how, albeit in my adulthood, have moved from my native Sweden to the UK to Belgium and then on to Kenya away from my own parents and as someone who, when...

Re: Possible job offer in Nairobi - need to make decision ASAP

Sorry if this is too late but I am very much in the same position. My wife works here, I don't. Getting a job here is impossible unless you happen to be in a few select fields.

As a man, you...

Re: Buying a flat in Manchester

I did mean 65k for a flat, what I can see on rightmove.co.uk, that would be possible. We are talking the smallest flat possible but I take on board what you say. The kids will be boarding so that is...

Re: Living the Dream.......how close to reality?

Indeed. I echo that. I moved from Sweden to Kenya and sure, life here is clearly not identical to life in Sweden but when you think about it, you sleep, eat, sleep, work, eat, go to the looh, shout...

Re: should we stay or move?

Manchester and Birmingham are good and bad, they are both large cities and so both have bad parts and good parts. There also some great countryside around both and airports with international...

Re: Self sustaining in France

Your son will be just fine, of course there might be issues but there will be issues in the UK too. A good time to do it might be when he leaves one school anyway but don't wait too long. Moving an...

Re: Urgent funny item on bank statement

Well, ok, I am sorry, I did not know what an Entrocard was, just talked about the principle. I see now that Entropay is a virtual credit card which you top up from your bank account. I assume you can...

Re: Self sustaining in France

I know nothing about France but I do know about swapping schools for kids and living off your land. I would first of all look at the soil and make sure it is easily farmed, not too many stones etc,...

Re: Urgent funny item on bank statement

Online, the idea is that if you provide the card number, card security number and perhaps an adress and name, that verifies the transaction but sadly, this information is easily obtainable for a...

Re: Urgent funny item on bank statement

The card number and security number you can get from anywere. Everytime you use your card, the details are transferred and can be picked up. That is easy peasy.

I would go to the Australian bank...

Re: Urgent funny item on bank statement

Yeah, that is a massive pain. I have the Co-Op now and they have a proper number but Lloyd's only have one of those 0845 numbers...

Re: should we stay or move?

Re: should we stay or move?

This depends so much on where you live. Property-prices vary across the UK. If you want to/need to live in London, a three bedroom semi would cost you over 1000 pounds per month just in rent. In...
