Re: Great things about UK and under threat: National Health Helpline.

I do worry a lot. I'd like to develop a less worrisome attitude but am short of ideas.

Without going into too much detail (impossible on an open internet forum) it doesn't look like I have much...

Re: Great things about UK and under threat: National Health Helpline.

Re: Great things about UK and under threat: National Health Helpline.

lol, yes that's true, now you say it, after a long line of breathless questions I was just told to see a doctor.

Glad to hear the line is not getting scrapped though. A revamp sounds more...

Re: Worried about the "chav culture" in the UK?

I have to admit not knowing what a chav is. I don't even know what the letters stand for, although I think it may have been explained to me in the past. Maybe I am in denial. My personal...

Great things about UK and under threat: National Health Helpline.

Had a great experience with a National Health Helpline on a recent fact-finding tour to the UK. Sad to hear that the new government are planning to axe the service.

How much of what we...

Re: Street Harassment? And not getting many of those to the pound.

Took a mini 'fact finding' break to the UK, this week and found no evidence of street harassment whether I was dressed like Barbara Woodhouse or something more Barbarella. Nice attention yes...

Re: Street Harassment? And not getting many of those to the pound.

I am glad to hear more of these accounts, the ones that say 'I've never had that problem'. I am not going to go in denial about the fact that street harassment does happen, but hearing that many...

Re: Street Harassment? And not getting many of those to the pound.

A young teenager boy with long hair, walking down a street in the UK, gets whistled at from a car. I don't understand what is behind it, but it's bullying and harassment. Girls get more hassle...

Re: Street Harassment? And not getting many of those to the pound.

Okay, I get this. My slow dawning about the UK is that you can't have the smooth without the rough. We left with our noses in the air, glad to escape for a bit of breathing space to what we felt...

Re: Street Harassment? And not getting many of those to the pound.

Re: Street Harassment? And not getting many of those to the pound.
