Re: Welcome to America - You're In the Army Now!

Ok, my question is this (as I am not about to argue between the merits of the draft, and whether PR should be in... I am living here, I am in it, that is just a fact)... but WHERE is someone told...

Re: Should I get a pre-nup?

Yep, pretty much... as the house that a couple shares as their primary dwelling becomes "their" house. But that is only one spin on the law that you just described. You can look at it other ways...

Re: Should I get a pre-nup?

Dekka,

Well I should say that I am a product of a bad marriage and a divorce (so I am the pot calling the kettle black in terms of getting divorces... but hey, you live and learn I guess)... so I...

Re: marriage fraud

You are right, I just went and re-read it. The fact the PR has to meet the requirements (Citizenship, death, 40 quarters of work, or depart the US permanently) is the part I wasn't thinking straight...

Re: Should I get a pre-nup?

In my mind, this is what is wrong with marriage today. The stats say it... 50% end in divorce... no one willing to stick it out and work on things... everyone wanting to prepare for the divorce...

Re: marriage fraud

Correct me if I am wrong, but the I-864 has a specific life span and is NOT for the entire life of an individual. BIG difference.

Re: musings - celebrity immigration?

Money talks!

Well in any event, they likely do have to go through the same process, but if they are global celebrities, then they are likely authorized to come to the US (for work or whatever...

Re: Ot Saddam Has Been Captured!!!

Hey, that's what makes our free countries great... as long as we aren't persecuted for our views (extreme right or left wing).

Re: Bad News

Well I would have to guess that a house that is big enough to have a self contained apartment, and is only currently holding 3 people is big enough to hold an additional person in some way. Where...

Re: bringing food into the US

All they say at the border is that you MUST declare the items. What they will and won't allow seems to be up to them at times. For example, in the last few months I have brought back lots of...

Re: Withdrawing a petition & can he sue???
