So, i've read that and i think maybe a skilled visa, then that brings the problem as what would immigration class as 'evidence' of skills.

I wanted to but as far as i'm aware Australia doesn't have much in the means of a big music scene at least internationally known.

I can only name a small handful of artists from Australia to make...

I think like you said randomly hitting up studios is my best bet.

I'm thinking on going for the working holiday to give me a chance to do that.

I'm not a bank manager or anything but i know my bank (Lloyds TSB) offer mortgages for international housing. I'm not entirely sure how they work though. =/

There must be ways to finance a house...

Rather than ask for a price reduction negotiate them to cover legal fees and maybe chuck in the odd additional perks, although it might not be a great deal more savings wise at least it's something...
