Prior medical issues!

Hey there,
I plan on getting to the US in the next couple of months. My fiance has medical cover through his work, but I will only be covered once we are married (which is fine!)

So am I to understand that I can send the docs off now, as long as the medical is booked, and all of the documents obtained (or are in the post on their way to me as I type).
