A very good reply. We took out the accounts for good interest and the cash card facility. The interest rates have gone, now the cash card - so what's the point in staying with Nationwide ?

You are missing the point. The debit/credit/cheque facilities are only offered to uk residents on the electoral roll. Nothing at all to do with credit rating.
If you already have one of these - fine...

I have been told :-
The cash card+ will not allow cash withdrawls outside the uk
Nationwide are closing the Cirrus "free" facility in favour of visa.
If you have already a Nationwide DEBIT card...

If you do not live in the uk and are on the electoral roll Nationwide will not replace the cash card with a debit card required to withdraw cash overseas, since they do a credit check. The Cirrus...
