ha, yes it can be confusing. I had been informed that flagpoling by land is more difficult than flagpoling by air. It seems a bit annoying as traveling the border by air is more expensive.

It's nothing I've read, just speaking from experience. Having spent 3 hours in an immigration office at Bellingham at 1am I would just advise not doing the same thing.

I've got my work permit for New Zealand for April (reason for signing up) I would always consider living in Canada once I have experienced a few more places. Travelbug has well and truely set in....

I'm pretty sure 'flagpoling' is illigal, and if you've got a non US/Canadian passport it would be easier to get caught out.

MOVE CLOSER TO THE CITY!! there are good jobs for BUNAC /SWAP people and alot of socials going on with Brits, Aussies etc..

We paid $560 each for a 4 bedroom, 3 bathroom apartment. This was furnished and included utilities and cable/internet. We were all from BUNAC so we managed to sign a 3 month lease.

The areas in the South-West are great family areas with plenty of green space (fish creek, canyon meadows, shawnessy). Generally speaking West = good East = bad. However there are some exceptions....
