is your age "frozen" at time of visa application??

if an applicant has enough points before age 40 but not enough points after 40 but it takes a long time for visa to be granted-would their age be "frozen" at time of application-or would they then...

i ahve been wondering about this too- my oh will be the main applicant but we could get extra points for me (5) if i too have had 12mths at a skilled level - i work with adults with learning...
