I don't know about 'people like me' - I only know me.
I am going to try to move to Iran because even with all the difficulties and restrictions and dangers it is home and the place where I belong....

Generally entering a country without a visa will get you into serious trouble.

I agree with you about Syria - and Lebanon was very enjoyable too. negative stereotypes indeed - all camels and terrorists. Next trip Iraq. love the Middle east but, for me, it has to be Iran. Just...

I love the language and get on quite well - apart from the kh and gh which are not natural to me. At least it makes Iranis laugh.
Getting married to an Iranian girl is not on for me due to age,...

I guess the similarity is George Bush' grouping of the old 'Axis of Evil'. I will have to go to North Korea because I only have two of the set - Syria and Iran. :)

Thanks, Barbitana, for the links - I am almost weeping with homesickness. Altho not that keen on Tehran. For me, Esfehan and Bam are where I want to live. Bam in the winter and Esfehan in the summer....

I backpacked thru Iran on my way to India and liked the place very much - beautiful places, nice people.
This year I went for three weeks just for the people.

No business - retired to travel - fell in love with Iran. I feel much more at home there than in the UK so would like to spend my (rapidly) declining years there.

Joined this forum today as just back from 2nd trip to Iran and seriously considering going to live there. Not a lot of websites about emigrating into Iran - funny that - so thought I might meet...
