I showed my licence to a mother of one of my students, who is a police woman, and asked if it was ok! She said it has the European symbol so its ok. She new I had lived in Italy for quite a few years.

Thanks Duffer for the information, I think we will change to Tim for the PAYG. Definitely won't use the calls and sms allowances and we don't use the phone for internet. At the moment we're using...

I'm not, hence this question. We are on a pay-as-go with Vodafone. Is it possible to change to anoher company and keep the same number and sim.

Yeah I kept the application receipt and have used it for ENEL and the bank etc which works ok.

They lost my first application!!!
I have even been in the commune office with a policeman asking why isn't done!
Well they can wait as long as I have for rubbish payment as long...

After 7 visits to Guiliano in Campani commune and 1 to the police and an email to the British consulate regarding my residence application that has not been issued... If I get a bill for the rubbish...

I think it would be cheaper if you took someone with you to return the truck back to the UK. I enquired about doing this with a car and (I think) the extra was around £1,500

Thanks to all who replied with a meaningful response.
The rates Peabrain quoted are similar here. (I charge 22 an hour for private lessons but would only be paid around 12 from an agency)
