Re: Electrical wiring question

From the code itself

Non sempre gli elettricisti e le industrie produttrici rispettano questo codice.

Don't you just love it.

And even if they had stuck to the code, it appears my red could...

Re: Electrical wiring question

I wasn't thinking of anything to do with UK specifically.

I had hoped to see the European Standard coding. Not that I was surprised to see Italian wiring being non-standard, just that the...

Re: Electrical wiring question

I guess it's not going to be as simple as I had hoped!

Electrical wiring question

I'm replacing my simple room thermostat with a programmable unit (Honeywell CM 907). I pulled the old unit away from the wall to reveal the wiring, expecting to see the standard brown/blue/yellow &...

Re: What say you?

Yawn. Nobody says the CRIMES are the same - as should be painfully obvious.

Re: What say you?

The same could be said about Locherbie, except the US was in the opposite position that time. Know what I'm saying.........?

Re: como or firenze for family

Florence has lots of churches, a museum full of dreary religious paintings and not enough car parks.

Como is charming and has a nice pond.

The lake area is better for my family but yours may be...

Re: The long road to Italy (and looking for a pit stop)

It's really down to whether you just want a quick and basic stop to break your journey or would prefer to make the trip as enjoyable as possible. We are the latter and have the time etc to do it, so...

Re: The long road to Italy (and looking for a pit stop)

Depends on your timing and your chosen route of course, but we stayed in Beaune earlier this month and it's a great overnighter.

Plus, if you can spend the next morning there, both the Hospice and...

Re: Relocating to Milan - quality of life there?

I hadn't realised Milan was so bad!

In fact, it isn't. It's a very nice city with lots to see and do, and some millions of people are living there very happily.

Estate agents will point you to...

Re: Documents in car

No doubt the wisdom of keeping documents in the car is so that when it gets stolen the thief will have everything he needs.

Re: Just Starting

I have a lefty on UK plates which I bought through 1st Car Imports - very smooth operation. I picked the car up from Cardoen in Antwerp, brand new. It spends much of it's time in Italy.

If you...

Re: The BBC channels have gone.....

I tried Filmon which seems OK but can't get my Samsung TV to recognise the laptop on HDMI2 as the manual says it should.

Re: The BBC channels have gone.....

I'm about 70km north of Milan and we get only limited reception, and only in daytime.

Fortunately we don't really miss it at all.

BBC radio 5 Live Sports Extra

It looks as though I can't get Test Match coverage any longer through internet radio, due to "regional restrictions.

Does anyone know an easy (non-technical) way of getting coverage?

This makes...

Re: Car buying(non-resident)

I tried to buy a lefty in UK and found it very difficult as the foglight and instruments are wrong for MoT.

I got mine from Belgium, pre-registered with zero kilometres - very good price. The...

Re: Taxation

This may be a situation where taking the tax-free lump sum is not a good option.
After all, it's going to be a long time before you will get any sort of return on the cash, and you may be risking a...

Re: Eurozone problems far from over ?

Most agree that Made in Italy is a very powerful brand, but political confusion and excessive bureaucracy conspire to prevent growth - it's a massive waste of an opportunity.

Maybe Italy should be...
