Re: Worried about the affidavit of support

Great advice, and best of luck to you! My husband had a november interview and was refused because of my domicile. Having maintained a US driver's license and bank account should help you, though.

I'm a USC moving back with my husband and 18-month-old son. My biggest hurdle has been proving domicile.

Are you all set re: providing proof of your domicile/intent to reside? We were refused for...

Hope I am not being misunderstood. I am happy to hear everyone's opinions, and I have a lot of respect for posters in this forum and their experience.

It would just be nice to have someone explain...

Re: IR1 visa 221g refusal

Thanks Rete! Awhile back (keep going back and forth) I had mentioned just waiting until Spring, moving ahead of my husband and sending definitive proof of residence. They should approve and issue...

Re: IR1 visa 221g refusal

Thanks, Rete. I’m actually working and we depend on our two incomes. I was off for one year on maternity leave, but I returned to work last summer. I know my family will do all they can for us.

Re: IR1 visa 221g refusal

Point taken.

My intent was never to annoy. I am just trying to regroup after the realization that I clearly misunderstood domicile when completing my I-864. I'm trying to find a way that does...

Re: IR1 visa 221g refusal

Yes, it's the only proof on the DMV's list that I can produce, and it has to be active for at least 30 days. And the license is the only thing that has to a) wait until next month and b) requires I...

Apologies for hijacking your thread earlier. ;)

Re: IR1 visa 221g refusal

Thought so. The lawyer (She) was only trying to give us a complete list of options. She feels really bad for us, thinks the CO was over-reaching and generally unfair with my proof of domicile.

Re: IR1 visa 221g refusal

Meauxna, I was just replying with my Spring idea and you beat me to it!

The more I review it, the more I think it's our best option. I'm not being dishonest, just respecting the instructions and...
