Trying to stash enough money to cover 3 months income should we be unable to work, is a big ask. I can't imagine this is achievable by many people unfortunately.

Family, to be fair though supportive gave a very rose tinted view of NZ. We were aware of the cost of living, though not so much about the increased working hours etc. Shoot me for not doing enough...

He is a health physicist by trade, so primarily nuclear licensed facilities, but worked for and in areas that are being decommissioned and have had radiological materials. I'm sure it's a lot more...

Justcol, we are all entitled to our opinions. The facts are that it is more expensive here. Working conditions are generally poor in comparison.
