Sometimes only for a week, There are some good deals from Toronto to Manchester.

Plus for Canada

Probably a safer place to bring up kids than in UK
Outdoor living in the summer, ie BBQ's etc, we sit out in our garden all summer long.
Nicer, longer, hotter summers.

Thanks for the replies. We still have a while to make up our minds. Meanwhile I'm getting started by applying for a british passport, We both have Canadian passports as we bnever bothered to renew...

That's part of the problem, how much is enough money? There is no doubt in our minds that this is a gamble. We've been back enough times to know how much things cost, but its different when you are...

Please tell me if you had any problems getting your benefits back or opening bank accounts, I tried to open a bank account last March and they told me I couldn't as I have been out of the country too...

Wow.
What wonderful reading this thread has been.
I've been in Canada for 30 years ( came when I was 31). I am a canadian citizen. 2 of my 3 kids were born here. 2 of them are now living in UK....
