I feel safer in Bangkok than KL.

I couldn't live in a country which is run by a mob that discriminates against it's large minorities either. :thumbdown:

Good point but the reality is that most people prefer supermarkets because they save time, and time is something a lot of us don't have in abundance!

If I ran a hostel I would insist on maximum stays of a week or something because I find hostels where people live because they are on WHV very off putting for backpackers who are actually travelling...

One thing I have noticed is how incredibly cheap UK supermarkets are compared to Australia and I am not just talking about the cheaper ones like Asda and Lidl!

I think there is a huge market for decent hostels in Aussie because the standard at the moment is dreadful! I would say Aussie hostel owners should look at their Kiwi cousins to see how its done...
