I just applied for the morgan stanley american express credit card. Last time I did I got rejected but I hadnt filed a tax return then so hopefully that will help this...

just as an update folks. I have unlocked my UK based Apple IPhone 3G and put a pay as you AT&T sim in that I bought on 34th Street yesterday. It all works fine. I have now cancelled my UK O2 account
