For what it's worth, Allstate were by far the cheapest when I moved to Montreal in '09. They took into account my 14 year UK driving history and my premium was something like 1500 a year.

wow! I've just been quoted over £3000 from Pickfords for a Glasgow - Montreal move! And that wasnt even for a full container! 'not to exceed 480 cubic feet' apparently. Does your negotiation...
