Well I stand corrected, I must have been reading the wrong list on the CIC website. That somewhat focuses things :-) if the route I assumed was available isn't then there we go, issues of holiday...

Many thanks to all who have taken the time to give their valuable advice, it is all very much appreciated.

It was my assumption that it would be possible to negotiate further unpaid holiday time...
