Congratulations to all those who got CO allocation this week. I hope we can experience the same fate when we lodge our application by late Feb/ early March (hopefully) :p

aliza,

you can apply for state sponsorship as long as your nominated occupation is listed on your chosen state's skill list. Every state has its different skill list so you should look for a state...

I also knew someone who had a CO allocation just last week! and his application was just lodged last nov.2008. I'm excited we're also applying for 176 visa. :)

When you sent your documents did you include the 'Letter of completion from your educational institution' in your application? This requirement can be seen on WA's state migration...
