Thank you for your replies, I have also been looking at articles about reverse culture shock and I feel a bit better knowing that it's normal to feel this way.

My partner and I moved to North Vancouver in 2006, both aged 34 at the time. We had our first child in 2008 and our second in January of this year. We both have good jobs and bought a house soon...

Wow, so many stories that sound like mine. Our citizenship applications are going through at the moment so once we have those - hopefully by the end of this year - we'll sell our house and move back....

Thanks, that's good to know. We don't meet the requirements until next month so I've not really looked into getting citizenship in great detail yet but I'll check that out.
