Hi all.

Top advice there! Although it's not always possible, try and get here a month or so before SJA course starts. This way you have time to sort all the medicare etc, and view rentals....

No, it's different to a CRB. It still shows if you have any convictions or otherwise. But they (Immigration) won't accept a CRB check, it has to be a police clearance cert.

Hi, you will need a UK police clearance certificate, easy to do. I have a Scottish friend here who sent immigration a scottish police clearance cert, but they stated they also require the UK one....

Have SJA given you a visa/migration agent? They should have as soon as you were given job offer.
As i remember, most of that form was sent to me already filled in by the agent, not long after job...

That's just for your visa medicals, the actual visa application and sponsorship charges are covered by SJA.

To all applying, don't worry too much about the future costs of permanent visas etc, once you're here and earning here it doesn't seem as expensive. Although it does feel like you haemorrhage money...
