Sorry, to clarify, structural draftsman is not on any of the lists so he would need to apply as a boilermaker. He would receive 5 points as he hasn't worked in this occupation since aug 2007. However...

Things have changed with the visa requirements since we last checked out our situation. I now see that with regards to a skilled visa, the requirements are that in the previous 10 years...

Its really just because we would like to get there and try to get a wee bit settled before he started the job... Also, I have my sister and her family there so would like to spend some 'holiday' time...

Hi

If you have a job offer then you can apply for 457 visa, i think these are one of the visas which are being processed at the moment so will be much quicker than the 176 family sponsored one. ...

Hi all

Looking to go to Oz on a 676 tourist visa... Can anyone tell me if we can then change to a 457 whilst in Australia if my hubby manages to get sponsorship??

Hubby is a metal fabricator but hes also qualified as a structural draughtsman (or drafter in Oz)... Dont have any kids, just the 2 of us! Jeezo, thats a lot of money, no way we would have that...

We are trying to figure out the best way to get to OZ. I want to go over there and study Primary Teaching... My husbands job, Boilermaker, isnt on the CSL anymore so going down that route...
