This might sound like a really stupid question - but are these visas guaranteed to people who apply, or is there still a degree of 'application?'

I always start with a paragraph about where I worked in Canada and my references are easy to see on my resume!

The accent may have something to do with it - but there are a million radio/media jobs where that doesn't come into it - not everybody is on the radio or on the telly...I'm not actually on the air!

You'd be surprised.

I worked for a Vancouver radio station for a year and that all went pretty well.

Radio is one of those industries where people are expected to have moved around quite a bit...

I work in radio - which I get isn't an in demand industry - however, when jobs are advertised at 7+ years experience and I have a very good track record of growth in revenue and audience I'd have...

In the UK at the moment!

I worked in Vancouver for 13 months in 2010 so I have a track record over there...

I understand what you're saying - but surely, with so much experience you'd have...

I've applied for 100 jobs in Canada this year...of which I've never even been asked for an interview...

Seems odd despite having 13+ years experience in my field at a high level in the UK...
