I agree -- remain patient. My nephew was an onshore application -- case officer allocated early September 2008 .... visa grant 27 February 2009.

When the case officer was allocated, he asked for additional information, then when those documents were uploaded, he sent another request for forms 1221 and 80. The whole process...

Have you been alocated a case officer yet?

As far as I am aware, the extra information forms (1221 and another one) is for everyone over 18 years old.

However, this can be up to the case...

Congratulations on your 10 day case officer.

However, this is small comfort for most applications which are still waiting for case officers. Things have changed in the last year.
