Re: Retiring in Malaysia - Malaysia My Second Home Visa (MM2H)

Isn't it funny how different people are...I can meet the RM 10K government income but I am never going to pull everything out of investments just to show CASH and then invest a big chunk in a...

Re: Retiring in Malaysia - Malaysia My Second Home Visa (MM2H)

Sounds like pretty much the end of the MM2H except for the very wealthy...Vietnam with the 1 year visa for Americans and no financial requirements looks very good...

Re: MM2H - do you consider MY your permanent base or just a 2nd home?

If, as I have seen reported, the FD will be greatly increased to 500K RM or more, there will be very few takers for mm2h at that level, effectively killing the program...

Re: MM2H - do you consider MY your permanent base or just a 2nd home?

I would suppose that political activity would be right up there with criminal activity in making one persona non grata...

Re: MM2H - do you consider MY your permanent base or just a 2nd home?

We could very well decide to spend half the year in Malaysia and half in the US...With 2 of Malaysia's 3 month tourist visas and a week in-between somewhere else that would take care of it without...

Re: Sarawak M2H

According to joy-stay applicants over 50 must have...
1. Liquid assets of 350K RM
and
2. Monthly income of 10k RM
and
3. FD of 150K RM

I tend to think the agents have the most reliable,...

Re: Sarawak M2H

With the government pension option gone and the FD set to go through the roof for mm2h on the Peninsula it would seem that the only hope for those wishing to retire in Malaysia will be Sabah or...

So staying for say 88 days on a 90 day visa, and then being out of Malaysia for a week or so, and then returning we would get another 90 day stay ? After that we would return to the US for the...

Re: longer vist visa

We are an American couple considering spending 4 to 5 winter months in Malaysia annually. What are the options for staying longer than the 90 day visa allows ? Thanks in advance for any input...:D

Re: Would you swap a comfortable life in England for a life in Iskandar?

We have quite a good life retired in the US...We spend the summer at our lake home in the far north and the winter in Florida...But my younger (69 vs 50) Chinese wife is bored at both places as...

Re: FD withdrawal

That isn't what the language of the mm2h site implies but it would actually seem to make sense that they would expect you to have a source of money in Malaysia.
Did an agent tell you this ?

Re: MM2H new requirements - soon

Government pensions in China are, for the great majority of people, quite small. If they had looked into it they would have discovered that they would never qualify for mm2h.

Re: MM2H new requirements - soon

A few people, even richer than god, can't possibly make much of a difference to the local populace/businesses. A larger number of middle to middle upper class folks will use tons more goods and...
