Re: Possible marriage fraud...what to do?

Ok maybe my wording is not clear, I'm sorry. Clearly this process is new to me. I do not believe anything was fraudulent in the beginning. Meaning I don't think he used to me to get in the country....

Re: Possible marriage fraud...what to do?

No no no, this has nothing to do with revenge. I'm asking from a purely legal perspective. So if he gets a letter for an interview I have to travel back to Arlington or can I just not go and let him...

Re: Possible marriage fraud...what to do?

I am moving on with my life and I'm not asking for personal advice. I'm wondering if this is something I should notify the USCIS about. I don't know what to do if we get called in for an interview.

Possible marriage fraud...what to do?

Hi all, it's been quite awhile since I posted here.
I brought my husband over on a K1 in 2003 from Germany. About 7 or 8 months after our marriage, things started going downhill. No abuse or...

Re: passport/AP docs on puerto rico vacation?

Take the passport. There is an immigration check upon leaving and they will check the non-US citizens passport for entry stamps of other islands. We were married last year in the USVI and spent our...

Well, I guess it could be, but I don't think so.

Re: Do congressmen help?

Definetly helped. We were about a month past the published processing dates when I contacted my congresswoman. She responded to us immediately and my husband received his approval letter about 2...

Re: Playing the waiting game again..

Ugh, that sucks. I just looked at their processing times for EADs and they working on cases filed March 25, 2004. So that's about right. Did they make an appointment already?

Re: Playing the waiting game again..

Hi Jamie

We were given a hand written receipt, kind of like something from a diner or gas station. We of course lost it soon after, so it didn't really matter. Our case was sent to Memphis, but we...

Re: Which Processing Times to Go By - NBC or USCIS offices??

We got there at the same time that they opened, 7 or 7:30, can't remember exactly. It only took around 30 minutes, but by the time we left the office was starting to fill up.

Re: Which Processing Times to Go By - NBC or USCIS offices??

Hey Jamie

Have you filed yet? They processed Philipp's EAD at the Louisville office and he got it pretty quick. They actually made it right in front of him. You'll know when you file because...

Re: AOS & Fingerprint Fee

Yes, she did. She called it the KY Dept. of Treasury or Treasury Dept., something like that. We got very lucky with the no interview thing, so I can't complain too much.

Re: AOS & Fingerprint Fee

I just wanted to add when we got there we were told the checks were supposed to have been made out to the KY treasury Dept. I had already filled them out and did not have my checkbook with me. She...

Re: AOS Filing - what to do?

I guess it's too late! I just saw your post, I'm sorry. We have been having computer issues lately and have not been online very much.

How did everything go?

Re: Anyone applied in person with AOS at Louisville?

My timeline is in my sig. We didn't fill out the I-693, but we didn't have an interview either. As of right now, Louisville is approving K1s without interviews, but I'm not sure about K3s.

Re: An email from the SS office downtown Milwauke

One more thing..

He will be required to show proof of residency in KY when they issue the "blue letter". The residency requirement is 30 days. We used our rental agreement and that was fine with...

Re: An email from the SS office downtown Milwauke

It will be, but the license will expire when the temp EAD expires. He can be issued a license simply on the K1, but the license will expire when the K1 expires. Right now Philipp's license will...

Re: An email from the SS office downtown Milwauke

In our case with Louisville (is that the office you'll be using) we had to go there several times before they would manually send off. They won't do it their own, you have to keep going in person....

7 months and we contacted the reps just last week. They were great about looking into it and getting back with us. Anne Northup and Mitch McConnell were the 2. I never heard a reply from Jim...

Re: Got the AOS letter finally, question though

So that would be the photo for his resident card, I guess? Ok, that makes sense. This letter is just so vague. Guess that shouldn't be a surprise, though ;)

Got the AOS letter finally, question though

Just like the officer said, my husband got his approval letter. The letter states his file has been reviewed and approved and he has to go in the office within 20 days for ADIT processing. What is...
