The UK driving licence just means you don't have to go through the graduated driving programme when applying for NS Driving licence. The 90 days limit is how long you can drive in NS before sitting...

Don't remember the name of school but the number was 902-405-1668

You don't get a learners licence. If you go to access Nova Scotia you will be able to buy the highway code equivalent...

Just sat my test last week and asked about this at Access Nova Scotia (where you sit test).

The 90 days is a continuous period from anytime you arrive.

So you could stay 89 days, leave...

I received ours about 3 weeks ago and they just came in regular mail - no signature required. Also, got them in 10 days - so I am still in Halifax as I thought I would have to wait 5-6 weeks...

Coz I am a crap driver. :p

Nah (well maybe) , It seems to be province specific. I think you had to do a test in BC up until fairly recently, but can now do a swap there also.

tried to be smart and just booked the road test. I asked if it was ok to use a rental car after the theory test and they said yes. So booked for last Wednesday.

I landed in Feb 2010, but as I was only staying 2 weeks did not send for PR Card.

Sent the fax last Monday from the UK giving the address I will be staying at for next 6 weeks in Halifax. Arrived...

Arrived in Halifax today and did not have any problems without PR Card. But do have a return ticket.
