Oh ABC! Ty! I have always whinged about it getting dark here earlier but in fact the times are comparable and actually i get up here earlier. The UK summer can be very hot, but again much shorter...

State to State can be different. In NSW they process your licence immediatelyand give you the card. Gosh you are right Marji, I forgot the proof of address,

Most Australian banks require you to be a permanent resident to have any form of credit. They will ask for your ATO statement if you do not have wage slips.
There are some banks who offer a no fee...
