How do I startup a new company in the US?

I understand that there is a way of starting up a corporation in the US as a subsidiary of my UK company for the purposes of obtaining an H1 Visa.

Trouble is I have no idea as to how to go about...

I am in a similar position to Linzi. However, I do own a company in the UK and would like to learn more about setting up a corporation in the US and hiring myself. Any advice would be welcomed.
