International School or State Education in Norway
Myself and my 2 children are planning to join my husband in Norway later this year and I would like to hear of any experiences of International School vs Norwegian State Education. I have heard stories of expat (not just British) frustrations with the Norwegian system especially 13 - 16 years, with educational progress assessed by age not ability, a longer term (not permanent stay) is on the cards. We would pay for International School ourselves.
Thanks in advance

Hi Chitchat
We have been in Norway since October this year.
Have you also considered the British International School?

We looked into the Norwegian System, its fine but of course there is little english but this depends on the age of the children.
International School is fine I also here, but our son is 8 going 7 and the British School is just down the road and is great. Its also the home location for the PWC (Petroleum womens Club) which is good for networking I here (so my wife tells me).
Happy to answer any questions as this club alos has a baby sitting club that operates on a points system.
