I'm amazed that more people don't come to the net more often.

Louzhny was doing very well with that against Murray for a good period.

Still, nice to see a player up their game and just exert serious control.

Don't really care what he is, or at least what you might think he is,he did well yesterday to win from two sets to love down, and I certainly wouldn't mind having even half of his annual earnings.

Ethos83 is an unknown quantity at this point

The comeback was amazing.

He's a brilliant player. I don't care if he's a bit cold towards viewers I just want to watch him play.

agreed.
Two years ago he didnt have the maturity or mental strength to make that come back.

I feel he gets very unfairly judged both as a person and player.

why does he have to be all warm and fuzzy, henman was that and a ****ing useless tennis player.

Also he is pretty much ranked no.4 or 3 in the world at a time when the no.1 and 2 spots are held by the most successful players of all time and who are pretty universally hailed as the best two players in history. (nadal and federer).

Murray has beaten them all and is pretty even in score against fed so why all the judgments are made against him i dont know.

give the guy a break, it has to absolutely suck being as good as he is at the time when fed and nadal are playing. 15 years younger and he'd be no.1 in the world or maybe 15 older, either way hes dammed unlucky to be playing when he is

You seem to have completely overlooked Djorkovic, who has beaten Nadal and Federer on a regular basis. Sadly for Murray, he is going to win again. That is why he is umpteen points clear in the ratings.

Hence my putting Murray no.3 OR 4

The ATP rankings are different obviously due to injury etc but I don't think many would disagree the real top 2 are fed and nadal

Federer and Nadal are the top two of the last ten years.

Djokovic is the best now - by a country mile.

Probably about right IMO.

The rankings really are averages though - each surface, tournament etc does throw up big differences.

Each of them are good on hard courts and all of them have won one slam (or many multiples) on hard courts. Clay is Nadal's domain. Grass was Fed's. Murray has been in semi finals at Wimbledon 5 years in a row now and won the Olympic. Plus last 2 grass court championships he won too....

Oh and didn't Murray beat Nole in the Olympic semi's before beating Fed...

Anyway - it's all talk from us... Go Andy tomorrow...

Spare a thought for Juan Martin del Potro - a player gifted beyond belief, with courage and heart in abundance, who in just about any other era would be number one by a street...... this really is a golden age.

And yet - there is probably some 17-year-old Serb or whatever about to emerge and blow them all away.............
