Packing the goggles also for a Sat morning sea swim although i have never tried an open water swim out there.
Enjoy Hatta, would have entered that, but when it comes to running or cycling, there is only one winner

Hi is it easy to have a gym membership in Al Ain as I will be moving over there in Jan. 2011. I just secured a teaching post with SSAT through teachaway recruiters. I am keen to keep to my aerobic classes and swimming as well. thye mention discounts on leisure activities in my contract. don;t know if that will cover gym membership as well. any info will be helpful
for me it is group participation that keeps me motivated. I am in a cycling group and triathlon group and we train, compete and socialise together. It gets to the extent that if i am not at the start line for a training ride at 0530 on a Friday i feel very guilty and actually get SMS from friends asking if im okay
When i trained on my own i would do max 1 hour at a time on the bike. With a group we think nothing of a 3-4 hour ride. Next weekend we have a cycle from Lime Tree in Dubai to Al Aqaa in Fujairah. its approx 220km.
I could never do that on my own (well i could i guess) but in a group its a whole lot easier.
My point being, if you can get with like minded people do it..
i could never sit on a rower for 30mins that is pretty hardcore. If you enjoy that, build up the time, slower for longer.
