Where to go?

Re: Where to go?
How would you know if you've never been there? My brother lives in Sri Lanka, we went there last summer and we were supposed to stay for about 3 weeks. After about 10 days we had to make up a story about one of our kids being involved in a car accident back home so we could leave.I mean I love cheap lobster, beer and elephants as much as the next guy but how much of it can you take?

Re: Where to go?
Been going east for holidays now for a couple of years. Never had a bad one.
Best trip to date:
Hong Kong - Macau - Hong Kong
Go to Hong Kong Disney for 2 or 3 days when you get there - stay at disneyland hotel. Good fun had and minutes from the airport. Good time for a couple. Play in the park or sit by the pool - service is great.
Then get the cotai jet from hong kong island to macau and stay at the venetian or hard rock for 4 or 5 nights. Amazing place. Get the free bus to the sands casino and visit the likes of the wynn and mgm grand - or again sit by the pool and drink cocktails or go to the spa. Great place for a couple.
Then back to hong kong - stay in the Shangri La 3 or 4 nights above pacific place - do the cable car, do the malls, or do nothing much but relax.
Great way to spend a holiday.

Always wanted to go to the Marquesas.
Looks gorgeous and removed from all the hustle and bustle and worries of the rest of the world.

Re: Where to go?
I've got the holiday blues and have started thinking about the next one...as its one of the only things I ever look forward to.
Thinking of doing 2 weeks somewhere that doesn't involve the UK for a change. Any ideas? I'm thinking of heading east for a change.
Flight distances and prices aren't too much of an issue. I've not really been anywhere in the east. Somewhere that's good value with plenty to see would be idea. Your suggestions would be much appreciated.

People are really lovely and it's really chilled - monkeys in the trees, chilling on the beach, diving etc - beer quid a pint!
