51 Dutch Pot. Term used in Jamaica. Its a large cooking pot basically. Otherwise referred to as the dutchie. ( Yes, you may well remember Musical Youth - Pass the Dutchie(from the left hand side)? ) . My wife has one at our home in UK, its was too big to bring with us when we came out here.
And co-incidentally, wife and step daughter are both at the British Dutch School here in Jeddah, working and studying respectively .

Well, lets reverse the question for a change. How many expressions are there in the Dutch language referring to the English? Not as many, I'm afraid. The only ones I can think of for now:
- Engelse ziekte ('English disease') = rachitis
- Engelse drop ('English liquorice') = liquorice all sorts
- Engels gras ('English grass') = thrift = Armeria vulgaris
- Engelse sleutel ('English key') = wrench
Only one with a negative connotation
Who can think of other terms?
- Engelse ziekte ('English disease') = rachitis
- Engelse drop ('English liquorice') = liquorice all sorts
- Engels gras ('English grass') = thrift = Armeria vulgaris
- Engelse sleutel ('English key') = wrench
Only one with a negative connotation
Who can think of other terms?
