This would be easy to do back home as there would be extended family and friends (probably) to get involved. There would also be the social services.
Ok - here goes. Alcoholic single parent has revently had a major op told not to drive for two months. Is now of course driving and drinking. Sole child has been in a few situations in which some others in the compound have had to help out owing to the boozing. Kid not collected from friends owing to parent being drunk. This has happened on a number of occasions.
The other parent in the UK has little involvement.
Any suggestions?

Surround him / her with attention and assistance plus professional help and hopefully family involvement.
