in all likelyhood it would just be a declined bill and a phone call
but if its direct billing for a lot of tests it may be a big bill... but nowadays you have to show an insurance card each time you use the doctors, they wouldnt know you didnt work there, until the bill was declined etc.

My question is, can I use my old medical insurance from lunch voucher job for my medication? Or is that a bit cheeky? Or illegal?

Thanks.
How expensive is this medication you need? Buy it yourself, and avoid all pitfalls.

It is GBP 1,500 per month. Yes, I will pay for it myself as I don't want to do anything wrong. But I thought I'd check as the last two jobs I had the insurance was not cancelled, it just ran out. But when my husband left his company, they asked for the insurance cards back.

If you were on good terms with your employer you cuold ask them to remain on the scheme and pay - it's not unheard of for employees/employers to do this.

Not sure if this would be possible though with your case

Also, strictly speaking your medical should cover you until your visa is cancelled which is not necessarily your last day in the office, i.e. if a person was on 3 months garden leave or something then medical should cover them until the end of that. Don't think this applies to you either.
