My Mam and Dad bought me a really old clapped out Black Mini to learn to drive in and a party in our local pub.....

My dad's friend owned a pub that was closed on Sundays. He let us have it for the day and the friend bartended....we had free beer on tap and but you had to buy liquor drinks.

My own kids got nice used cars that "has to last throughout your university years."
