........... on the Metro.
Fell asleep.
Awoken (with a rather rigorous prodding of my shoulder) by the conductor-guard-lady to be told that 'sleeping not permission'. Next time, she said, she would call the nearest policeman.
Just checked the list of "Dos and Don'ts" and it's a AED 300 fine ["Sleeping in the waiting areas, shelters or any place in a public transport environment"].
Sorry...........

Perhaps another passenger complained - the one Squirty referred to, for example..........

A friend who regularly catches the 6am train from Rashidiya says that 10% of the passengers are usually asleep by the time she reaches Deira City Centre, so you are not the only one, Deano.

So I understand the law was created to keep bums from sleeping at bus stops and other public places and now they are using it on people who are just nodding off while waiting for a bus? Ya just gotta hate people sometimes, especially Cops, Board Moderators and just about any other form of the constabulary.

Geez... so what happens if you pass out? Do they just slap a fine on your inert body?
