I'm struggling for ideas on what to do for the missus next week.....other than go for a "nice" meal.

I'll be staying in I guess, we much prefer that - she can sit around watching rubbish girly tv as I cook up a big, fantastic feast and then we'll wash it down with some nice champagne.

Anything other than going for a meal surrounded by couples who don't really like each other and are struggling to make conversation.

Cook her a meal, give her a massage (or pay for one if you're no good at it!), go for a walk somewhere interesting, buy her something she'll really like. Just use some imagination and avoid the over-priced meals with a 'rose for the lady'.

Unfortunately got her a Dyson last week - the iron is still going strong - however we could do with a new kettle.

A kettle and a few cupcakes sounds like a good solution; practical, romantic (sort of) and not overly expensive !.
