Re: Vaccine rollout in the UAE

The inconvenience is relatively minimal. For instance, I can walk to a testing centre from my office and be done in 5 minutes. Near my house there's another centre with similar turnarounds. Plus there are drive-thru testing places and even services where they will come to your house and test you at home.

An article in The Sunday Times today regarding The Seychelles having a higher per capita rate of infections than India goes on to report that the sinopharm vaccines were gifted by the UAE, cases in the UAE remaining higher than last year and doubts about the efficacy of that vaccine.

43% of vaccines have been Astra Zenica ….. lots of other factors based on location / source of visitors and variants come into play.

Yes it did go on to say that 43% were AZ, however main thrust was about the sinopharm, several other countries doubting the effectiveness.

At no point did I doubt its effectiveness. That's why I didn't take it.

I think we will see numbers up and down here until such time as vaccinations are widely available for 'permanent' non residents and the sizeable population that exists hidden in certain places.

I neither doubted the effectiveness of the sinopharm one, I didn't take it because it was not approved in the parts of the world I want to visit.
